Joe,
It isn't really that hard to do. I built mine several years ago and
have upgraded it twice since. It's just a matter of screwing in a
few screws and plugging in a few plugs. It took me a half hour to do
the hardware assembly and another hour to set up the system software.
However, I do know Doctor who can't put gas in his car because he never
figured out where it goes. I wouldn't recommend he try to do it. ;)

You're right. There will be some people out there who won't be able
to do it. Plus, there will be some who won't be happy with the end
result if they do it themselves. I didn't like the way my case came,
so I added a "real" power switch, changed where the power on LED was
mounted, and wired in a LED from the drive to the case and remounted
it, since it was poorly designed. If you want to do those kinds of
things you should be handly with wire and pliers, etc.
