Hmm... I just noticed that my original followup lacked a smiley...
Sorry 'bout that... However, I do think that if Apple were to suddenly receive
10000 or so letters from users, they'll reconsider their position. In my
course of work, I use a bit of Mac, and a bit of PC. Much as I like the Mac
over the PC, I'll never recommend the Mac over a PC to friends.
Like I've mentioned before, they _do_ take notice when a customer
writes in, even though they only reply in a form letter. I have written like 3
or 5 letters addressed to Sculley when I was in high school back home, and
found out later that he actually asked the local distributor who the hell I am
(since I know the distributor's general manager, he found out, I guess... 8-))
My point? I guess if a whole lot of people writes to Apple/CEO of
Apple stating that while they like the Mac, however, the way they have treated
the Apple II users is contemptible, and they will never recommend a Mac to their
friends, and that even with next to no advertising, in 1988, the Apple II
division as still a US$1 billion dollar operation, and that the GS had survived
until this year before they stopped selling it, about 7 years. Anyone still
purchasing any PC/XTs? While one person or so recommending "not to buy" is no
big deal, if a whole bunch of users did that, it would affect their market
share (after all, isn't this what Sculley allegedly resigned for?). If we
point out that the number of people who did not like Apple Computer Inc is
quite big...
Well, they will at least take notice of these points, if a number of
people wrote in. But what I actually want is the Ethernet card back.
	Ciao.
