Re: Connecting ImageWriter II on IBM
My brother would like to connect his ImageWriter II from his GS
up to his new 486dx-33 clone, so after reading up on this thread, I'd like
to know _exactly_ what he'd need to buy and/or configure to get it working
from within most DOS applications, WordPerfect 5.1 and Windows 3.1 (gak! :p)
Does he need the RS232c-to-8pin MINI-DIN hardware handshaking
cable -- the same one Alltech Electronics carries for connecting GS's with
high-speed modems? (That'd be great if he does, since I already need such
a cable to for hooking up this USR Sportster 14.4k to _my_ GS! ;-)
Finally, after installing drivers and messing around with autoexec.bat
junk, does he need to change any of the dip-switch settings inside the
ImageWriter II? Right now however, I'd like a definate "yes" or "no" answer
on the hardware-handshaking modem cable (btw, what's Alltech's #?)...
(Please reply by mail...thanks).
