Re: HP. DJ1200C
Philip:
I was lucky today and got through to Hewlett Packard. They said that in
order to use the 1200C on a Mac. you have to buy the PS. model and this
would give you the 8 Din connection. Can you please verify this. For the
sake of others that might have been reading our messages they gave me some
other information, that you might already know about, that I am going to
post here. They said A) that the PS. model comes with 4 Meg. instead of 2
Meg. of memory. B) The postscript takes up one one of the 3 SIMM's so it
is only expandble to 20 Meg. instead of 26 Meg. 4 Meg. on the Motherboard
and 8 Meg. @ in the 2 slots. C) You have to use Appletalk to use the
printer. Street price for the PS model is $2049. Would you mind sharing
with us how much you paid for yours.
Thank you again for all your help!!
An additional note to other messages I have seen. Alot of companies are
reluctant to lend out products to the Apple ][ world even if the
programmer makes their product accessible to Apple ][ users because they
don't see any money in it. I can't see Bill, or any company for that
matter, buying printers when it wouldn't be profitable. Don't get me wrong
I wouldn't expect Bill to have the driver in a week because I've been told
he is one of a few programmers working on a project that we would all like
to see, and soon.
Happy computering!! Jim
