Howdy netters!
About a month or so ago, there was some discussion about failing GS power
supplies. The main power diode was indicated as the component responsible for
the failure, and it was described as a large diode attached to a heatsink.
So, I proceeded to open up my power supply, locate the diode, and test it's
resistance in both directions with a multi-tester. This revealed that the
diode had zero resistance in both directions.
Then I proceeded to try and remove the diode, but in my haste, I broke it,
and it shattered into many pieces, most of them the size of a dust particle.
Of course I'd neglected to note any markings on the diode, so this brings us
to the reason for this post...
CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE REPLACEMENT FOR THE MAIN POWER DIODE??!!
(sorry to shout)
And, I really don't know what the numbers on a diode mean... feel free to
explain this is you care.
Thanks, in advance,
