It sounds like you are trying to execute the command lpr located in
the GNO root directory (sorry, can't be absolutely positive.)

If so, I believe that you can't use '/' to specify the GNO root
prefix; as a "feature" to GNO, '/' maps to a volume prefix if none of
the standard UNIX prefices are recognized (ie: usr, var, adm, etc,
etc... :-)

Use '../lpr' instead, or add the name of the root directory (full
pathname) to your $path variable.
