Gee if this isn't in the FAQ it needs to be. The thing is the finder and
similar programs access drives constantly. How else are they gonna know when
you put a disk in the drive? If you have 5.25 drives chained to your 3.5 drives
look closely and you'll notice that their lights flicker faintly. As for the
reason that the light flickers on the unidisk and not the grey drives, I bet
it's for the same reason that the light comes on when you hit a unidisk's eject
button but it does not on a grey drive.
