Unpacking $8001 archives

  I said this earlier, but anyway.  I received some public domain programs
in the mail.  The person that sent them packed them on the disk to save
space.  All of the files had .shk attatched to the end of them.  When I
used ShrinkIt and GS ShrinkIt, they both said that the files were unknown
archives.  The Show All Files command doesn't change anything.  I tried
both ways and they still were said to be unknown archives, even though they
are $8001.  The files are visible in both menus (Show Archives and Show All
Files).  Is there anyway to change the $8102 (SORRY!!!, I MEANT TO SAY
$8102 AUXILLIARY TYPES!!!) auxilliary type to the one it is supposed to
be??? how???  Also is there any other way to unpack it???   Thanks!!!
