With the right controller, you should be able to use any SCSI or
AT-IDE hard drive.  I use a homebrew SCSI drive built around a Conner
CP-340, controlled by a rev. C RamFAST caching SCSI controller.

One of the six disks is a compressed 800K disk that you can boot.
Unpack it with ShrinkIt (8-bit ShrinkIt running on your IIc will do as
long as you have a 3.5" drive for that system) to a blank disk and
boot from it.
