It sounds to me like a problem I used to have with IBM disk drives which
I moved to my Macintosh.  My suggestion is to either take the disk drive
back to the Macintosh or to an IBM.  Use a low level formatting software
program to erase anything which might already be on there.  Then, without
reformatting anything else, put it back onto the Apple and try the SCSI
software again.  It will probably work then.
