How to get a 3.5 floppy to work with //c

Hi folks,

	I need to get some of my old Appleworks files off of my 5.25 medium
onto a 3.5.  So I borrowed a friends 3.5 //c disk drive, and thought
I was in bussines...  WRONG!!!!

	I have version 1.0.1 of PRODOS on my floppies... kinda old!  Do I need
to update my version of PRODOS, in order to see my 3.5 drives?  Apple
File Exchange can see the files fine on the 3.5 after I transfer them... but
I can't get them to read into any word processor well.

Any help would be appreciated,
