it... it mercilessly plugs a commercial product. You have been warned.

Well, I guess that what I was going to say, after playing with MultiGS, was
this:

I finally realized something that distingueshes (sp!) GNO from most of the
other multi-(task|switch) software I've used. (I have used Leapfrog2
(remember that one?), as well as things like MultiLaunch and the Manager
and Switch-It! demos... I don't own any of the commercial ones...)
With GNO/ME running, I feel MORE secure than I do when running non
multi-task/switch shells, such as ORCA or ECP, and, often, than when I am
running desktop programs. Why? because GNO seems to protect me better than
they do. As an example, I write programs with my GS. Now, I'm kind of one
of those "2000 recompiles" type of people, so my programs are often
littered with dumb errors: things like a missing not, which leads to an
infinite loop when I wanted a finite one. These errors would normally force
me to reboot, fix the error, and recompile. However, with GNO, I just type
Control-C and control gets back to me, nearly every time. Same goes for
when I do dumb things, and I want to quit them. Just control-c and go. Or,
when I have a time consuming task (example: unBINSCIIing files, or unSHK
ing them) I just run a background task, and boom...out it comes.

The fact that GNO seems to do a better job of letting me make mistakes and
not dying from them makes me feel better about using my computer. I
multitask things with it all the time, and it seems to me that it's easier
to handle my background stuff this way.

I would have posted this to csa2.gno, but there, I figure that I'm
preaching to the choir. :)
