If it's still at ROM 00, the upgrade to ROM 01 is free from any Apple
dealer. For more memory, you can either pick up one of the 1-meg
boards that regularly sell for $40 or so or get one of the newer 4-meg
cards; the Sequential Systems memory card gives you 4 megs for about
$130-$140 new and maybe a little less used. I'd recommend that you
get a 4-meg card if you have the $$$ floating around, but System 6.0.1
will boot into as little as 1 meg.

More RAM is required. A hard drive is highly-recommended, but not
absolutely essential. An accelerator is nice to have, but (again) not
absolutely essential.
