Although the 1Gig drive is not yet on grind.isca.uiowa.edu, the apple2 tree
has plenty of room. Use the upload directory (write access, no read access).
I'll move it to another directory with read access for others to download from.
It's a bit awkward not to able to see what is in the upload directory, but
that is how the sysadmins prefer it for security. They are willing to try a
read/write upload directory for apple2, but have warned me what to expect
(a deluge of GIFs lacking socially redeeming value). Apple 2 users have no
such tastes, but wait till the IBM and Mac crowd find an open site!

Back onn subject, the upload directory also has subdirs caltech, umich, nodak,
wustl, pindarus etc. that other ftp sites are welcome to use to move files from
their sites to the apple2 archive at grind. Would the archivists from those
sites please contact me if they have any questions?

FTP: ftp grind.isca.uiowa.edu, login anonymous, cd apple2
use upload dir for uploads, other dirs for downloads

Telnet: telnet grind.isca.uiowa.edu, login iscabbs, Change_dir apple2
follow bbs-like prompts (? is help).

I haven't ordered the 1Gig drive yet, so there is time for last minute
donations. 1 Sep 93 is a definite deadline though, so hurry! We are just at
the $1000 level (+/- $25, I haven't added in the last couple checks yet).

A 2Gig drive is only $1800 if the last minute donators want to donate BIG $ :-)
