|\|ope, that's because the SCC.Manager file didn't give those
error messages in Sys 6.0. Since you said you got 6.0.1 from
Resource Central, you must have gotten the release notes, too.
Check page 12, under "SCC Manager." (:
][t's surprising how many people have been seeing this message.
Easy Update always installs new versions of whatever you already
have in your System folder, leaving it up to you to decide previously
if they should be there or not. So, either sometime in the past one
of the scripts on the Install disk included the SCC.Manager when it
shouldn't have, or a LOT of people have been doing manual installs
(at least of drivers), and they've been blindly putting things in
there without really knowing what they do ("SCC.Manager? What's
that? Well, can't hurt to have a few MORE extraneous files in my
System folder so I'll just throw it in..."). Actually, even I had
the SCC.Manager file in my drivers folder at one time, but I took it
out long ago when I found out what it was for. That was probably
back around System 4.0, when it was still simple to do a manual
install and not worry too much about missing something (there were
so few files it was hard to leave anything out). The Installer was
new and many people didn't trust it, then, too.
