This only works on volumes though. If you back out of a directory,
the cursor is always on the first selectable item on the list. Kangaroo
remembers the most recent cursor position for each folder you access.
It does so by leaving invisible "Kangaroo.Data" files in every folder
you visit. One caveat: this means that backing out of a folder may
confuse you at first, since the most recently accessed folder (as
recorded in the Kangaroo.Data file) may not always be the folder you
just exited. This can happen if the application set the default prefix,
or if you use the Find File feature to jump directly to a folder
(bypassing the intervening folders). This usually isn't much of a
problem though.
BTW, Kangaroo comes with a utility called "KRemove" which scans
selected partitions for Finder.Data and/or Kangaroo.Data files and
deletes them. Thoughtful little addition to a nice package.
