I've been looking for those old moldules that allow you to control electrical
outlets with the Apple II (Powerhouse X-10 or something like that?). They
were on "clearance" for about $50 about five years ago, but I was waiting for
them to go down to about $20. Unfortunately, they disappeared soon after.

It seems that these would be great for home security (turning on lights
unattended), for waking up (turning on a stereo and/or coffee maker),and things like that. And since II+'s are going so cheap, it's no longer a problem to
leave it on overnight or for weeks at a time...
