Actually, if you get the latest version of MacWrite II (unsure if same goes for MacWritePro), there are several translators for every type of word processor that you can think of. The version I used at school had translators for AppleWorks Classic v2.0 and AppleWorks GS, as wel as ASCII and WordPerfect and XYwrite, etc, etc, etc.
I typed my papers in AppleWorks v3.0 (which is same as v2.x if you dont do funky tab things), put them on a HFS floppy vis the HFS-FST, shoved the disk on the Univesity's //FX, and printed right to the LaserWriter with all margins, centering, etc intact.
I tried a "demo" with AppleWorksGS, but nothing like the 25page monsters I did with AppleWorks v3.0.
