Problems with Hard Drives

Hello Again!

In response to the many replies about the out of memory error with
my conner HD and Apple High Speed SCSI card:

I have 1.25 Meg, which should be enough to accomodate any programms
that I need to run just to start the machine up... right?

Now the key problem seems to be that the hard drive refuses to be
formatted by the utilities that are included with the SCSI card. It feels as
if the partitioner attempts to format the drive without actually doing it. The
partitions do work, however.

So... are there any SCSI gods who can help me with this problem?

I've already installed the SCSI drivers onto three different versions
of my system disks. None of will even recognize the drive, at least on the
finder.

If I boot off a floppy, when the finder looks for the hard drive, it'll
access for about 10 seconds, then seem to give up without the drive appearing
in the finder.

Thanks a bunch for your help!
