Regarding my problems with HardPressed:
Andy- I _did_ read the manual. I just re-read the section on installing
HP. Nowhere does it say to diable HP before using the installer.
I took your clue to use an 800k RAM disk. That was sucessfull in
installing HP on a 3.5S.
To put a pressed v. of Platinum Paint on the disk I needed to remove
START and FINDER. I then renamed Platinum Paint to Paint.SYS16.
I keep getting an error message RUnable to find x.SYS16 or START file.S
I also tried naming the application Paint.system. Same error. What am
I doing wrong?
The problems continue with HP and HyperCard GS. This is exactly what I
did:
1. turned Kangaroo off.
2. Moved an uncompressed v. of my stack to a floppy.
3. Compressed the floppy version.
4. Launched the stack on the floppy.
The stack seemed to open ok. But trying to access any menu item failed.
The menu item would invert, color-wize, and stay that way. Keyboard
commands for menu items still worked.
Interestingly, when I quit HyperCard and load another application, the
menus wouldnUt work then either- OR the copy/paste command from the
keyboard. I tried re-installing the system software. No help, the same
thing occurred.
When I re-boot and uncompress the stack, it launches fine- even with Kangaroo
active. So something is fishy with HP.
NDAUs that I have are: ShdowWrite, DonUt Forget, and Font-DA Installer.
CDAUs include: Zip GS Control, OmniMouse, Heirarchic Settings
INITS: TransProg III, a screen blanker, Express (inactive) and Pointless
This ONLY happens when I launch an HP compressed stack.
Any thoughts?
