The custom printer doesn't quite go far enough in some instances. I
have yet to find a decent setup for my Canon BJ-10ex, even in Epson LQ
emulation mode. Does anyone have one (anybody from NAUG here?)
AppleWorks always seems to send out one particular code before starting
a print job. On my printer, a capital "A" appears at the top of the
page, misaligning the first line. To fix this I have to issue a "Reset
Printer" command at the beginning of each document, and that means I
need to manually insert a top margin and header for the first page.
Things like double-wide and double-high don't work too well either since
AppleWorks is not aware of the change in size of the font. Proportional
printing is also a hassle since AppleWorks expects ImageWriter II
spacing. The result is a very jagged right margin. Full justification
does not seem to work either (no microspacing). Does NAUG have a
solution for this?
