HardPressed for problems
Well, on Monday I found HardPressed in my mailbox. After making a backup
of my hard drive I proceeded to install HardPressed. Now following the
excercise as outlined in the manual, (well, some of us read the manual) I
attempted to compress some files. Results? Nilch. Nada. Nothing.
HardPressed didn't do anything for me except occupy some space on my hard
drive.
So what next? I sent WestCode a description of my problem and they told
me to disable all init's and NDAs. Well guess what? HardPressed works. So
to make a long story short, I found that the GS.Spy.2 init was the
culprit. So anyone out there wondering why HardPressed isn't working,
check if you have the GS.Spy.2 init.
I found the GS.Spy.2 init to be very handy since it has a menubar
indicator that tells me when my Vulcan is being accessed. Does anyone out
there know of any other software that will do this?
