Using 3.5" drives with CP/M.....
G'day.
Applied Engineering distributed a program with CP/AM 4.0 (bundled with
my //c Z-Ram) which patched the BIOS, enabling it to use the RAM as one large c:
drive; I tried this on my //e under CP/M 2.2x (running on a Microsoft softcard
and using an AE Ramworks III as the ramcard) and it worked no problems.
Is there a similar BIOS patch which enables CP/M 2.2x to recognise
3.5" drives, especially the 1.4Mb drives? I need to build a large database,
and dBase II under CP/M is far more powerful than Appleworks 1.1; it does chew
up disc space, however. Any ideas (and please, no stupid remarks about using
either a messy-dos machine [running dBase IV] or a Mac, or about upgrading
to Appleworks 3)?
Thanks
