There were never any changes in compatibility, except sometimes I
accidentally torqued off OSX 10.3 users because I was compiling with
too-new Java.  I have a feeling that 10.2 will work with the serial
library, now that I look at it... maybe you're just having trouble
with the Java level?  I'm having trouble installing 10.2 on my G3 just
now, so perhaps you can help.  Back on 1.1.2, what messages do you get
on the console when starting?
