I suspect the problem is that no-one has opened ".CONSOLE".  This
would be the case under ORCA 1.x and GNO 1.0.  I still don't
understand why you couldn't get ORCA/C 2.0 to work properly under
ORCA/Shell 2.0.

Redirecting input from .CONSOLE will make sure it is open; redirecting
output would probably have the same result.
