plug polarity +/- for Quadram buffer

           QUADRAM MICROFAZER EXTERNAL PRINT-BUFFER:
           ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
NEED INFO REGARDING +/- POLARITY OF POWER ADAPTER

I recently bought a Quadram Microfazer 128K external print-buffer on the
net. It is a box the size of an external modem that connects between the
printer interface card and the parallel printer. No power-adapter was
included, but the seller stated that it will work with any 9 volt adapter.

I am concerned about the issue of the POLARITY of the adapter. Years ago
I blew the amp on a cassette player by having the polarity on the adapter
reversed. Therefore, I want to get this right. The seller stated that there
is a rectifying circuit on the buffer board which allows conversion of any
9 volt signal to operate the adapter. Still, despite this assurance, I
want to be cautious about this before connecting the buffer to a power
supply of unknown polarity.

No owner's manual was included. If anyone has the manual for the Quadram
Microfazer, please notify me what is written regarding the tip-polarity
of the power source plug.

I would appreciate getting a photocopy of the Microfazer's manual; I will
reimburse for photocopying and postage expense (Send via ordinary mail.)
I contacted the manufacturer, Quadram Corp. of Norcross GA, and they were
not helpful. They have an expensive "900" toll number for tech support,
and for the manual they demanded a high fee.

Thanks. Stephen Buggie sebugg@presby.edu
