     No, I informed them that the patch wasn't quite what was needed.
Their patch involved clearing the SANE direct page to all zeros when
SANEStartup was called. Since this stopped programs like AppleWorks GS
from locking up, they believed that it fixed the problem. Since SANE
was designed to not care what you do to most of its direct page between
calls, their solution obviously wasn't a reliable one.
