No, there are separate shell utilities for uuencode and uudecode, in
fact at least two distinct implementations.  I don't recall which site,
but I think I downloaded mine from one of the major ones (caltech, 
wuarchive, plains.nodak, pindarus ?).  Look for an archive that has
both named in the title.  -- the other only has uudecode --.

There is also a P8 version which is a sys file (not a shell command).
It works, but I prefer the shell version.  I don't recall where the
P8 version is located.

If you cannot find it, let me know and I'll email it to you; I don't
see any need to post something that is already in the archives unless
I get enough email from people who do _not_ have ftp access.  Caveat:
I am expecting to depart out-of-province on short notice.  Therefore,
if you do not receive an expedient answer, you have probably missed
me until about mid-August.  (The GS is going with me, but I don't
know about a phone-link).
