     Frank, shame, shame. :-) We don't recommend hand-building your
system for exactly the reasons you've mentioned. If people don't use the
Installer to set up their system, we can't spend time worrying about why
their machine doesn't work properly. However, for you Power Users who
throw caution to the wind, Finder 6.0.1 will help you out a bit when
you're installing things by hand.
