Stupid Question (How to setup SCSI disk on System 6.0)
Another stupid question: I bought a 41 MB Quantum external drive (SCSI) for
my Apple GS (equipped with RAMFast SCSI card, I guess), and I can't seem to
get it to recognize the drive. I tried installing the SCSI hard disk driver
from the System 6.0 install disk to the System 6.0 boot disk but it didn't
seem to do anything. According to my manual after you do this, it should
pop up with a window asking you if you want to initialize the hard disk.
Well, it doesn't do anything at all. When I boot the RAMFast utility
program it comes up with "RAMFast card not detected in system". I purchased
this system from someone else and I don't know much about the Apple IIgs.
Also there was no SCSI card manual, but it does have a card in the machine (
and its supposedly a RAMFast card). Once I got into a RAMFast screen when I
went to boot the computer, but I have no idea how. It recognized the SCSI
disk as a 41 MB drive, and even let me format it from here (I guess low-
level). But I can't get back to this screen and don't know what to do
next. Any ideas ??? Please post them... Thank YOU!
