Uses for Resources (was Re: MS-DOS FST?)

Let's see...with a resource-based interface you can
internationalize your programs easily, you don't need to compile your
code just to see what a window looks like moved 2 pixels, resources can
be loaded on an as-needed basis so memory is conserved, programs like
Finder can store information with a file such as its icon/version/etc.
You can store any type of data in a resource, and you can quickly access
it using the facilities of the Resource Manager. There are literally
bazillions of reasons why resources are cool, and I have yet to hear one
argument as to why they aren't useful.
