The problem is that kermit uses hardware interupts and so switch 
sw2-6 on the super serial card has to be set on. I had the same
problem with the emulator and when I got a copy of the software
for my Apple II+ I had the same problem. On reading the kermit manual
I found the above solution, which worked for my II+. However, I have
no way of doing the same with the emulator. I don't think it would
be too hard to modify the source code of aple2em-2 in order to get
kermitp to work but that is outside my comptence. Perhaps some kind 
soul could do it for us.
