There are many reasons for staying with 5.04 . (1) It uses less memory.
(2) The boot disk is smaller from a 3.5" floppy. (3) Many sw companies
stopped supporting the GS at 5.04. In fact, I don't believe there were any
new GS's sold with System 6.0, at least not in Canada. When I bought a new
one a while ago it came with 5.04 .
I would think you'd be limiting your audience greatly by not supporting
5.04 . Clearly, System6.0 is far nicer. But its audience is probably far
smaller.
