I'm posting this here in hopes that it be a warning to all apple
users to not get too close to an IBM running AIX.
As you may, or may not know yet, AIX is not the best Unix.
as an example of this, I recently got a core dump with 'ls -l'
on a somewhat large directory. Thats preaty sad.
Anyways, AIX is supposedly POSIX complient, that means they hacked
in some preaty ugly things into the C-libraries. Most affected
were the exact libs you are using: sys/foo libs. Unless you
define -D_POSIX_SOURCE at compile time, the sys libs use crazy
Macros, instead of functions and some different structs and
other niceties that will prevent the machine from compiling
even the most basic of things...
..Thanks for letting me vent my anger at IBM...
