Printers for the Apple IIGS?

Sorry if this is a FAQ; but I scanned this list and also comp.answers,
and didn't see a FAQ list anywhere.

A friend of a friend has an Apple IIGS and an Imagewriter.  She wants
a better printer, such as an HP DeskWriter or an Apple Stylewriter.
The salesman she spoke to says this can't be done.  So my question is:
is there a better printer she can get for use with her IIGS?

My impression is that she really needs formatted text (bold, underline,
etc.) but is less concerned about graphics.

A pointer to the FAQ list would also be welcome.

I'm not a regular reader of this group, so e-mail is preferred.  I will
scan the group a couple of times looking for posted responses, however.
