System 6 window problems

Sometimes when I am opening a window, I get a lot of bands of color
where the file names should be.  Usually, if I just close, then re-
open the window, its ok, but sometimes I have to reboot. Is this
due to memory problems? I only have 1 meg and am running a tight
system (my Memory NDA says I only have 80k avail, ouch). All
input welcome!
