Version 2.0 only has minimal support for Usenet messages. You can
read/reply to them, but you have to address your reply to the mailing
list address or a mail->news gateway. Version 3.0 (I'm working on it
right now) uses inews to post to Usenet.

Hey, I did say MuGS is an "offline reader". You won't see the word
"UUCP" mentioned anywhere in the feature list or the docs (except when
telling you it *isn't* UUCP). ;-) However, a cron'able mail/news
transport system is under development right now. When we finally do get
UUCP on the GS, I can easily update the MuGS code to output in the
appropriate file formats.

No! Although I supposed you could bind your editing keys to be
vi-like. Apple-S sends your reply, Apple-O opens a text file for
inclusion, Apple-Tab requotes a line, Apple/Option-arrows work as
expected (beginning/end of word/line/page/document).

Got the idea from the xrn "Gripe" button... :)

No, we only have ELM here and something called "mh" which looks like
some sort of modeless mail reader.
