AFAIK Digilent only has Windows software.
That's all the reason I need not to buy it, then. Thanks!
As a side remark I saw a few different clones of the Xilinx USB cable on e-bay with an average price of $110. So the secret is not-so-secret now and probably the clone prices will be dropping soon. The equivalent clone cable for Altera part now goes for $20 on e-bay but the protocol was not only reverse-engineered but also published.
Some of the 'Xilinx' branded USB cables on eBay are shipped from China and appear to be trademark ripoffs. Caveat Emptor!
I'll suffer with the parallel cable for the time being. I've been using it with my Spartan 3 board for the past year.
