Apple II GS does not run some application software

I wrote a few days ago about a problem running an application on
the Apple II GS.  What I neglected to tell you and think of myself
is that the error occurred on another person's computer. (We were
checking to see if the application worked on a working computer.)
I realize now that the working system did not have enough memory.
Going back one step to system that is not working .......

The teacher told me the computer works on at least one app. software
software and got the following message

Cannot run.  Please try again.  Error = $0201

I would like to know what this error means.  Is is possible that the 
3 1/2 diskettes are simply worn out?  (The teacher does not have back ups)

I would appreciate any information on this system as I am only knowledgeable 
in MS DOS.
