Strange...why are you trying to load text files into the database?
Are you trying to print something with 2 columns?
In any case, here's something that ought to work:
1) Load the first file into the word processor.
2) Make sure that each line ends with a Return.
3) Copy the file to the clipboard.
4) Create a spreadsheet file.
5) Move the clipboard to cell A1...your first file should appear in
column A.
6) Load the second file into the word processor.
7) As before, make sure each line ends with a Return.
8) Copy the file to the clipboard.
9) Switch to the spreadsheet file you created.
10) Move the clipboard to cell B1.
11) Copy columns A and B to the clipboard.
12) Create a database file with two categories per record; make sure
you're zoomed out.
13) Move the clipboard into the database.
As to being able to only load 900 lines of a text file...how much
memory do you have in your system? If you're booting into the Finder
each time, try booting directly into ProDOS 8 (my usual practice) to
make better use of memory. I have 4.25 megs in my system and have no
problem with files of up to 15000 lines (but even that limitation is a
problem sometimes :-| ).
