I need to find out some information about the format of a 5.25" disk on the
Apple IIe. All I know is that there are 35 tracks and 16 sectors. Each block is equivalent to 256K. I am interested in its format under DOS 3.3. It appears
that DOS takes up the first three tracks. Track 11hex is the track that contains the catalog info, I think. I need to know how it assigns the program names to where they are located on the disk. I also need to know how it handles a program that is stored in chunks on the disk. How does it know to jump to the next chunk on the disk when a program is fragmented. I imagine there must be some table that indexes the blocks on the disk. I think if someone could map out track
11hex for me that that would be all the info I need. I would really appreciate
any information that anyone has. Thanks.
