Thank you every one who replied to my query regarding booting from a
ProFile. I have successfully booted on my ROM 01 GS with the controller in
Slot 2. When I get the //e, I will try it on that and see how it goes.
It now seems that I may of had the controller in slot 4 on my old //e with
slots 5, 6, and 7 all having bootable devices in them so that is why it
wouldn't have worked. I will let you all now when and if it works installed
in slot 7.
Again thanks to all who answered.
Now for a semi-related topic: Is there a GS/OS driver avalible for the
ProFile? Even though I don't plan on keeping it on the GS it would be nice
to speed it up for when it is connected.
I am also after a /RAM5 driver, so I can sort the */system/drivers directory
and have the "fastest" device, /RAM5, polled before those slow, very slow
5.25" drives I have. I may also then go out and buy a SuperDrive, if the RAM
disk is still accessable from ProDOS 8. Is it true that this driver will be
included in System 6.0.1?
