As a matter of fact, a new FORMAT has been worked on and is essentially done.
Dave Whitney had a hard drive crash recently, and I've been up to my ears at
work, so it's been delayed far longer than we originally planned. Dan Zimmerman
has been playing around with some beta stuff I left for him when he took over
CCO, and I hope to have the legal crud taken care of soon so we can release the
(copyrighted) spec along with the initial sources and programs.

And yes, there will be a new 8-bit program. The interface is derived from my
A.H.H.H.SYSTEM p8 quit code replacement and is much nicer than BINSCII 1.0.3.
It has been done for a while and is waiting on the final engine code to be
complete so I can do the C->6502 conversion once and not worry too much about
maintenance once it's debugged.
