GS stopped booting from HD

I have the following system;
 
GS with ZIP 9/32
        4 meg CV Tech with 1meg apple in piggyback
        RAM 5 set to 1600 k
        Apple HS SCSI in slot 7
 
        Quantum 80 meg HD
 
I was using the system today and was installing some printer drivers when the
system refused to boot up. I have reformatted the volume and installed a
startup system with system 6 installer and all I get is the following with a
crash to the moniter.

The hard drive works fine in 8 bit mode and I am using the system to do this.
I can read the drive if I load from floppy and I can copy and delete files to
and from the drive but every time I boot from the drive in 16 bit it crashes
to the monitor. Any idea's
 
        I'm at a loss.This happens with two quantum drives I have and it all
began this afternoon.
