It would be nice if periodic updates could be posted here, or at
least confirmations that the project has not been cancelled.

More and more I'm beginning to think that Avatar is a Good Thing
with a definite place in the computer industry.  The Mac and PC
worlds are bogged down in a lot of nonsense.  A fresh approach,
one not riddled with 'traditional computer wisdom', would do a
world of good.
