One thing that people seem to be forgetting is that you must PROVE that
you need the upgrade before you can get it.  For example, if you bought
a UniDisk 3.5" drive and found that it didn't work on your //c, you
would be entitled to an upgrade (but only up to the ROM version that
fixes this problem).  At least that's what I was told when I got my
UniDisk 3.5" a couple years ago.

Same would be true for the modem port problem.
