Switch It method, IMHO, is good. The Amiga method is proposed because it is
slightly more flexible then a switcher, but will not corrupt the screen like
a MultiFinder will do (on a computer with different resolution).

If we can use overlapping windows, why not overlapping applications? To use
an application, just click it to the front, just like the window in
MultiFinder.

What happened if all 16 colours is used? I would suggest this: let the
foreground applications takes all 16 palettes.

Most applications will looks alright because they are using standard palette,
especially the 640 mode applications. Applications like DreamGrafix, will
make the background application looks weird in colour, but it is not as
terrible as displaying 320 mode applications in 640 mode.
