Well, we have the producers of that commercial to thank anyway.

What we in Australia call prawns are mostly called shrimp by North
Americans, and as the ad in question was aimed at North America they
chose the term that was familiar to the intended audience.

The difference is only really of interest to biologists... I'm sure they
