Help: Apple II -> VAX modem file transfer

I have access to an Apple II Plus with a Hayes Micromodem II and Hayes
Terminal Program. According to the manual this Terminal Program
supports three file transfer protocols: stop/start protocol, send
lines protocol, and verification protocol.  I want to transfer old
data files from the Apple to a VAX but these protocols are unfamiliar
to me.

Does anybody know if any of these file transfer protocols corresponds
to either kermit, zmodem or any of the better known transfer
protocols?

Alternatively, is kermit for the Apple II, and Hayes Micromodem II
compatible, available in Apple II media anywhere?

Summary:  How can I transfer files from an Apple II to a VAX using a
Micromodem II?

Any ideas, comments, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
