That is weird.  I use either IF...THEN and IF...GOTO all the time and
have not had any problems.

My only suggestion would be to check that the interpreter is parsing 
everything the way you think it SHOULD be parsing things.  Although I
think this would cause a SYNTAX ERROR before anything else.
